Local Co-ops

This is a quick overview of our local co-ops in the Charlotte area, and expanding into the Chapel Hill/Raleigh area.  Please follow the links to the community discussion board for more information and answers to your questions!

Nourishing the Carolinas Raw Milk Co-op

We receive deliveries of fresh raw milk, buttermilk, and cream from LD Peeler's Milky Way Farm. These deliveries occur every other Thursday in Fort Mill, SC. There are other delivery/pick-up options for those that can't make the official Thursday mid-afternoon delivery. There are currently no membership requirements for this group - just order and pick-up.

We're in the organization process for a monthly or bimonthly event in Chapel Hill and/or Raleigh. All orders must be prepaid within SC.

Nourishing the Carolinas Bulk Co-op

We receive monthly deliveries from United Natural Foods, the same distributor used by Whole Foods etc. We can order bulk, frozen/refrigerated, shelf-stable and packaged goods from UNFI, and our discounts are 20-40% off retail. NTC Bulk Co-op members receive an additional 10% off co-op catalog prices.

Our primary deliveries are in South Charlotte (pick-up times are flexible) though we can deliver bulk orders to the Chapel Hill / Raleigh area on request, space permitting.

Healthy Food Choices Club

Some of our community members are also members of the Healthy Food Choices Club, and receive chicken/turkey/beef/pork and raw butter/cheese/cream/milk/etc once a month. HFCC is a private organization that requires a membership application and $10 dues to join for a year. You can find that info here: http://www.healthyfoodchoices.org

The HFCC maintains a private mailing list for official members, though some info is sent out via this Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nourishingthecarolinas
